SBC UPGRADE
« on: December 17, 2003, 09:23:41 pm »
Starting tonight 12-17-2003 SBC will convert all connections with 768 or 384 download by 128 upload to the new 1.5Mb x 384 download by 256 upload.

If you have a 768x384 download and your close enough to the cO you should see the 1.5download if your farther out than 12000 feet you may only continue to see the 384 download speed.

dann i have a question for you.  i have the SBC Standard Plus Package with 384Kbps-1.5Mbps download and 128Kbps upload.  Does this mean i get the 256 upload as well?  And is my download still 1.5 Mbps??  Thanks in advance.

Suppose to be on yours.... IT seems SBC is upgrading area's that have more business customers first, AT least thats my take on it. Some of the people I know with the business package 1.5down and 256up have been upgraded and are getting 384up now
I have SBC 768x128 Im still waiting
I also have the cyberonic above and its been more reliable ITs never down where Iv been down several times this past week due to Sub7 attacks on my SBC line. That was fixed last night when I traced it down.

Anyway I hope they upgrade everyone a little faster ONE can only hope. But it could take up to the end of the year

SBC update
IF you updated your info "on line" to SBC durring the months of September or October of last year mainley on your contract thers a possibility the only thing that was upgraded was your price to a higher amount. Your speed will stay currant till the end of the current contract.
The work around is to get the SBC sales on the phone at 888-767-6544 or 1-877-722-3755 find out excactley what your getting and make sure to ask for the upgrade.
This might get you on a new contract with your new faster speed without having to wait on the system upgrade and still pay the same lower amount for at least 12 months.
