Cricket Wireless - Tweak Help
« on: June 19, 2008, 04:49:32 pm »
So I just got away from my dial up internet service and purchased the new Cricket Wireless service in my area...

The advertised speed is 1Mbps that is One Megabit per second for those that don't know..

So far it works amazing and I love it, I tried some downloads last night and it was running at about 100KB/s which is roughly 80% of the advertised speed..

I was wondering what CableNut settings would fit my internet, it is wireless broadband..

Here is my test from speedguide.net:

SpeedGuide.net TCP Analyzer Results
Tested on: 06.19.2008 17:45
IP address: x.x.xx.x

TCP options string: 020405b40103030101010402
MSS: 1460
MTU: 1500
TCP Window: 107520 (NOT multiple of MSS)
RWIN Scaling: 1
Unscaled RWIN : 53760
Reccomended RWINs: 64240, 128480, 256960, 513920
BDP limit (200ms): 4301kbps (538KBytes/s)
BDP limit (500ms): 1720kbps (215KBytes/s)
MTU Discovery: ON
TTL: 50
Timestamps: OFF
SACKs: ON
IP ToS: 00000000 (0)

*Note that I have already done some adjustments to cablenut myself... I want to know what I SHOULD use though and I don't think the service is PPPoE because I don't have a username or password.. I hook up the USB wireless device and click "Connect" and I am on.

I would really appreciate any advice on what to do about online gaming though.. I get a ping of around 200ms which is horrible for 1Mbps.. for some reason the internet isnt using all of its speed capabilities when I try to game online..
I really want to play lag free on games like Battlefield 2142 or the Halo demo for example.. If you could help me out that would be awesome =)

And no I do not know the advertised upload speed..

Thanks!
