Try thease  since these are a little more designed for your connection ,but if you want to try the cable fast go ahead

Thanks for the reply,

So I am suppose to use cable_normal_2k instead of cable_fast_2k?  I compared the numbers u suggested versus the ones in the Tips&Tricks section...

I got much a higher number for DefaultReceiveWindow = 921600  using the calculation of kbps * 1024.

Also, LargeBufferSize = 819200 was 81920 in the Tips&Tricks section...

I am still not getting any luck when downloading relative to speed.  Please advise if I could make any additional changes in value..  thanks

The large buffer size   i say use as what i suggested :however if you have less ram in the computer drop the zero.  As far as the fast versus what i gave see what gives you better resaults for some all the settings with values in placed can cause for slower speed that's mainly in dsl it's rare that that all the settings in place will slow ya down ,but it can happen odds are 10 to 100 that it will slow ya down   with dsl ,.so in other words it's rare that it would.

Ever connction/ conditation such as line quality/ distance to the dslam/cmts  it all varies so be your own judge  to what works better the settings i give is ually dead on with that 2% where it could cause promblems.

Hopefully that answers the question if you are getting no speed gain that could be caused by distance to the cental office line qualty ,or both with dsl if you get 80 to 85% of advertised  sped you are alright.  The extra overhead is due to secxurty that pppoe ,and pppoa has in place ,and also what is said above. ;D

I have always had problems with dl'ing speedwise (I am trying now and I am getting a speed of 11kb/s);  the first time I tried the Speakeasy—Speed Test... now it is 2000 vs 7400.. Please advise as to why and which values I can try changing up..  any additional info would be greatly appreciated..

Is your phone lines in  good shape? Do you hear clicks on the line  static ,or anyother things when you pick it up other than the dial tone..

Since you are on dsl  there is a few settings we could take out   see if it helps in the past it has been know to cause minor promblems especially with dsl it's rare.

Did you happen to do any tracerts to  your isp ,and other sites it could be something on route to that site/server  give that  a try and post the resaults if you want.  There is a link about ping and tracerts here on this site if you want to learn more about ping/icmp.http://www.broadbandnuts.com/index.php?page=ping
