need help for optimizing my connection..
« on: June 21, 2009, 07:12:24 pm »
hi guys, this is my first post:..i need to improve my connection..
i have dsl service 3.0/768 from verizon [THINK I HAVE PPPoE].i have a westell versalink 327w
i'm in new york,also have xp-pro-sp3..kapersky internet security,IE8
sometimes my speed is ok,sometimes slower, and connections shows
Speed (Down/Up):  3360 Kbits/sec by 864 Kbits/sec

i another forum speedguide.i could download tcp/ip optimizer..
but curiously i cn't log onto tcp/ip analizer, everytime i go there i get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage "
so i don't know my real values.

-at the other site they've been trying to help me but without these values i can not get help.

when the connection is slow..i tried LSPFix...winsockfix and xp/tcpip repair..and let me tell you this increase better speed..

but i wish to use these tools like cablenut, tcpi optimizer..
so please i need your help.

You modem  may the port 8080 open   on the modem  to allow th eanalyzer to see your machine.  You could  have a software firewall  runningl.

You could do a regedit and look for mtu   goto strat men run type regedit.
Or try this tool see if it reades it http://www.dslreports.com/tweakr/block:1a43c9f?service=dsl&speed=12000&os=winXP&via=normal

The other values wouldn't matter since you are asking for new values  The main vlues or windows sizes are bassed off of maxium segment size ,or mtu value -40.
It's all stated in here where in regedit you could find thease settings and change them.
