According to the Australian version of the SORBS website,  Michelle (formerly Matthew) Sullivan is announcing a possible closure of the website due to contract issues.  The Spam and Open Relay Blocking System (SORBS) anti-spam project is having some difficulties and states that it will close as of 20 July 2009 at noon.  The site is asking for alternative hosting and states that it is officially for sale.

Read the pending closure notification at www.au.sorbs.net and a history of the organization at www.us.sorbs.net

Sorry- I cant say Im sorry to see the site go away... I hate spam, spammers, and their computers! But Sorbs has caused a lot of people including myself many issues...

This article is the opinion of the poster and not necessarily the opinion of the website owner!

Spam is an illness brought on by Advertisers that have no clue of right or wrong and push goods that most of us don't need BUT the world goes round.

Sorbs on the other hand has black listed whole Internet service providers and legit business that may have leaked spam and when they proved that they fixed the problem Sorbs wouldnt remove the business from the list.

Theres a ton of problems with spam and when the Spammers finally get a clue that the web would be or could be twice as fast without it then maybe we can all have fun...

Sorbs I wish you could have fixed your problems with the listing service.. It was a great attempt and doing right..
Personally I hadnt used Sorbs for a little over two years when the list started blocking legit emails from our partners and associates..

Its my opinion that eventually it could have been fixed.. The truth in all this is that two many companies and people got hurt by it as well..

Be a Organ Donor. A chance at life.
This site never spams or sells its list to anyone. No pop up's or scams
An inconvenience, but if you want to make omelettes, you have to break some eggs.
