connection?

Iím thing of getting a laptop, at present I have a desktop hooked to a DSL Modem
Will I be able to plug in to laptop like I do with  my desktop?

I assume that you have the wireless part of this secured... 

Anyways... Your laptop will probably come with wireless standard. You can connect wirelessly...  Otherwise if it has a wired port then yes it would connect the same...

sorry  i'm thinking of getting a laptop @ a different location my lake home  has netins DSL modem @ no router.

I can find no "netins DSL modem" on Google...

Can you locate a model number?   Most DSL modems available today are actually "Gateway" devices in that they are a modem and router all in one...  In fact its difficult to find one that is not.

Your laptop should be able to connect via an ethernet cable to the device and obtain an address and just work...

If the modem has an antenna then it will be for sure a router also and work with your wireless card if you have one.
