Got slow ass DSL
« on: September 22, 2002, 03:26:41 pm »
Here is my results from the tcp/ip analyzer

TCP options string = 0204058601010402

MTU = 1454
MTU is not fully optimized for broadband. Consider increasing your MTU to 1500 for better throughput.

MSS = 1414
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1414, which equals MSS.
MSS is not fully optimized for broadband (although it might work well for slower connections). Consider increasing your MTU value.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 32768
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 32768
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
520352 (MSS x 46 * scale factor of 8)
260176 (MSS x 46 * scale factor of 4)
130088 (MSS x 46 * scale factor of 2)
65044 (MSS x 46)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1310.72 kbps (163.84 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 524.288 kbps (65.536 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 120 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

My isp is Tbaytel, a local company.
win 98

Welcome to the board  8)

Whats your Subscribed speed ?
Im gonna asume you did the NDIS update for Win98SE if you have SE
Also assuming you ddid the Vtcp update as well..

heres that page
http://www.dslnuts.com/patch/index.html

How do you connect ?

Did you read the DSL article here http://www.dslnuts.com/pppoe.shtml
Pay close attension to the part about assigning a IP address.. Its a Fake IP assignment to the Ethernet card that keeps DHCP from going out and looking for a IP every 15minutes or so that keeps it from hanging.

 ;DOK first we need to get your MTU straight, it should be 1492, look here on how to fix it. :)
